Why We Walk: A Mission-Driven Purpose

Two Lines Pregnancy Clinic has been hosting an annual Walk for Life Celebration and Fundraiser for over 20 years as a way for the KC community to come together and say with one voice: we’re with you. And this year’s Walk for Life will be here in just two months!

The Walk for Life is one of Two Lines’ largest fundraising events every year. If you, your family, your church, or your business wants to come alongside our work to value every life and make abortion unthinkable in our community and beyond, this is a meaningful and impactful opportunity.

Why the Walk Matters

Two Lines Pregnancy Clinic’s mission is to encourage women and families facing an unexpected pregnancy to choose life by serving them before, during and after with Christ-like compassion. When you sponsor or give to the Walk for Life, your money goes to providing tangible support to real families in our community, through free pregnancy tests, sonograms, STI/STD testing and treatment, and additional services including care management, pregnancy and parenting education, baby supplies and emotional and prayerful support right here at Two Lines Pregnancy Clinic. And when you participate by walking, you join in a powerful, visual demonstration of the support and community women have rallying behind them.

“We are so looking forward to the 2026 walk for life,” says Ruth Martinez Tisdale, Executive Director of Two Lines Pregnancy Clinic. “This fundraising event has been significant for the life of this ministry. In addition to providing funds for the on-going work of serving women and families, the walk is a visual representation of the many individuals in our city that come alongside us. We would love to see you and your family or church group join us for this special event.”

When you participate in the Walk for Life, the impact you make is significant. Because of your generosity, parents are empowered, women receive reliable information they need to make difficult decisions, and babies are born into families ready to help them thrive.

Join Us!

The Walk for Life will take place on Saturday, May 30 at Two Lines Pregnancy Clinic (10901 Granada Lane, Overland Park, KS). There will be entertainment and activities for kids, food, games and prizes. Check-in and kids activities will begin at 8:00 a.m., and the two-mile Walk begins at 8:30 a.m. Registration opens April 1 and can be found on Two Lines’ Events page.

Registration is by donation and includes a free t-shirt! You can register as an individual or as part of a team and invite your friends, your church, businesses, or people you know to help reach your fundraising goal.

You can also become an official event sponsor. Sponsorships start at $500 and include recognition at the Walk in front of over 1,000 pro-life attendees. “Sponsorships are a great way to show your businesses’ pro-life support,” says Sarah L. Rose, Community Outreach Coordinator. Churches, businesses and individuals are all welcome to sponsor the walk. Sponsors make a huge difference—they create momentum and help us in a big way to reach our financial goal for the fundraiser. Kansas-based businesses who sponsor the walk may also eligible for a Kansas tax credit.

“There is Hope”

Ace was starting his career and Jayla was in the middle of finishing her college degree when Jayla discovered she was pregnant—unexpectedly. Ace told Jayla he would support her in whatever decision she wanted to make. Initially, they mutually agreed to pursue an abortion, and Jayla took the first step of a chemical abortion. 

It was then that this young couple began doubting their agreed upon decision, and that is where Two Lines Pregnancy Clinic was able to step in. Though not a guarantee, Two Lines encouraged Jayla that APR has a roughly 64–68%% success rate in preserving a pregnancy from the first pill in a chemical abortion. 

After initiating APR, Jaya continued to be treated and monitored at Two Lines for several weeks. Jayla’s pregnancy was preserved and she and Ace welcomed into their lives a healthy baby girl.. 

Both attend ongoing classes at Two Lines, along with other young couples, and they continue to learn new things about parenthood they didn’t know. The fellowship and the encouragement is a huge support for them both. 

When asked what they would say to someone considering an abortion, here is what Jayla had to say:

“I would tell them that there is hope, especially with Two Lines. They totally changed my life. And, it’s not too late.” 

Ace agreed:

Understanding Abortion Pill Reversal

Often when a woman elects to undergo an abortion, it’s because she senses she has no hope and no other options. The abortion pill, which now accounts for over half of all abortions nationwide, is a 2-pill ration taken over a 2-3 day period. The first pill is often administered in an abortion clinic and the second pill is then handed off to the woman, who is to take it at home in the next 1-2 days. An already isolated and fearful woman is left to wait for the end of her pregnancy alone. 

And yet, in the time between administering the first abortion pill and taking the final pill, thousands of women have second thoughts while they wait. 

Medical practitioners nationwide are helping women reverse the effects of the first abortion pill through Abortion Pill Reversal Protocol, a safe and effective way to stop a chemical abortion. 

How does Abortion Pill Reversal (APR) work? 

The main chemical in the first abortion pill is mifepristone, a progesterone receptor antagonist. Progesterone is a naturally occurring hormone in women that is essential in producing vital nutrients to a baby. Without progesterone, an unborn child cannot survive, and mifepristone blocks this essential hormone. However, the Abortion Pill Reversal Protocol simply restores the supply of progesterone. 

Dr. Angelique Pritchett, a family practice physician,  explains:

“Progesterone is a hormone that is naturally present in a woman’s body. This progesterone floods the uterus to counteract the effects of the mifepristone pill she took in the [abortion] clinic. This progesterone support is given under my care and can be in the form of capsules taken by mouth, or injections in the hip muscles.”

How effective is APR? 

One case study observed 754 women who underwent Abortion Pill Reversal Protocol.  Women who were given an intramuscular injection of progesterone saw a 64% success rate in reversing  the effects of the  abortion pill. Women who took an oral dose of progesterone successfully reversed the effects of the abortion pill 68% of the time. 

Is APR safe? 

The abortion pill reversal protocol uses natural progesterone to counter the abortion drug. Progesterone is completely safe and is associated with no known birth defects. It is a naturally occurring hormone in women’s bodies that has been used safely in pregnancy, including to treat recurrent miscarriage and infertility treatments, for over 50 years. Thousands of women have successfully reversed the abortion pill process and saved their pregnancies, leading to happy, healthy babies.

Abortion Pill Reversal Protocol is so safe that nearly 1,000 medical practitioners make up a worldwide network that has  saved over 6,000 lives. In fact, women in every U.S. state and in 96 different countries have safely and effectively used abortion pill reversal protocol. 

What’s next?

For a woman who has taken the first abortion pill and is having second thoughts, it might not be too late. 

There is hope in the waiting.

Dr. Pritchett explains:

“A woman typically has 24 to 72 hours before starting the protocol after the first pill is taken for the protocol to be effective.” 

Even after an expectant mother has taken the first abortion pill, there could still be time to save her child.
